A new opposing position makes informal organizational structures visible

New observations

Another statement concerning the initiative becomes known.

It comes from the spokesperson of a regional forum and states that it speaks on behalf of participants from five local chapters.

The problems described by the initiative are not fundamentally disputed.

Once again, the chosen communication path is criticized. The statement explicitly refers to the organization’s hierarchical structure and the established channels through its different organizational levels.

At the same time, the position of this regional forum within the formal organizational structure is currently unclear.

At least one other regional forum apparently exists, to which my own local chapter is said to belong. So far, I have no direct observations of its activities.

The regional forums primarily serve as informal channels for exchange between local chapters.

Model B

The regional forums have developed a de facto coordinating or representative function within the district association.

Model C

Individual participants speak for their local chapters within these forums, although it is currently unclear how such a mandate is established.

Current state of orientation

The new statement initially confirms the shift already observed in OR-006: the communication path is increasingly becoming the focus of the dispute.

What is new, however, is that another organizational structure is becoming visible in the process.

Precisely because the statement emphasizes adherence to the formal organizational hierarchy, the question of the forums’ own position and legitimacy becomes increasingly relevant.

Based on the observations available so far, it is particularly unclear whether, and under what conditions, such a forum can speak on behalf of the local chapters assigned to it.

Which observation would be particularly helpful now?

A clear description of the purpose, composition, and legitimacy of the regional forums.

In particular, it would be helpful to know how participants are selected and on what mandate joint positions representing several local chapters can be formulated.

Preliminary status

The new statement does not fundamentally change the previous orientation.

It does, however, make a previously barely visible informal organizational structure part of the reconstruction.

Further developments remain open.
